Our Story
Founded in 2011 as a grassroots effort in Batesville, the Coalition for a Drug-Free Batesville began with community members coming together to respond to the opioid crisis.
Over time, it has grown into a trusted and steady presence in the community, focused on substance use prevention and strengthening protective factors for youth and families.
The coalition was previously supported through the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) program and is currently funded by Indiana’s DMHA Substance Use Prevention Grant.
Vision and Mission
Our Vision: All people who interact in the Batesville Community will experience a safe and healthy environment.
Our Mission: To promote and support all ages in the Batesville community in making healthy, responsible, and legal choices around substance use.
Coalition Meetings
The Coalition for a Drug-Free Batesville meets on the first Monday of each month at 11:00 AM in the Council Chambers on the second floor of the Memorial Building. The public is welcome to attend.
We use this time to discuss coalition updates, ongoing projects, share community resources, and explore ways the coalition can support the community and problem-solve to fulfill our mission.
Executive Committee
The Coalition is directed by a volunteer Executive Committee. The Executive Committee provides guidance and leadership to the Coordinator who oversees the work of the Coalition alongside the Coalition members.
